For studio lighting, it is important to control all kinds of lights like soft light, hard light, hair light and background. If one uses the correct kind of studio lighting, one can get wonderful results and without that, the results can be flat and boring. For studio lighting, there are various different kinds of lighting one need to know about.
For example, in portrait lighting, one needs to control the harshness of the light as well as being able to de-emphasize problem areas, such as a narrow face or a round face. The wrong lighting will emphasize these features and will not be flattering to your subject.
The kind of lighting will also depend on the kind of camera to be used. Bigger cameras require smaller apertures to get adequate depth of field and hence more light. Head-and-shoulders portraits require much less light than automobiles. For more information on studio lighting, check out our other pages only on Lighting-Systems.net. |
